National Record Store Day 2025. Record store day was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding. There are more than 260 independent record shops that are participating in this year's highly anticipated record store day, which is a globally celebrated occasion that promotes the vibrant and cherished culture of physical music.

Each year on the third saturday of april, fans and artists all over the world come together to support independent record stores on record store day. Special vinyl releases are made.
